CAVE CONSERVATION

CAVE CONSERVATION " CHILI PADI CAVE" 7TH JULY

A day before the official cave conservation work, a group of 25 cave lovers / volunteers led by Zainul arrived at Gua Damai XPark. They came complete with exploration equipment and cooking utensil. Right away, they got down to work, starting with left behind structures and wiring in the Chili Padi cave.

On 7th July, at 7:45 am, volunteers began to gather and had breakfast sponsored by Gerakan Belia 4B Wira Damai. There were also volunteers who came by train (KTM Komuter), alighting from the last station at Batu Caves. From there, it was just a 15 minutes walk
The management representative, Mr. Mustapaha welcomed the  volunteers comprising of individuals and 4B youth movement. He expressed appreciation for the support given and spirit shown.
The Kuala Kubu Bahru civil defense teams (JPAM) headed by Mr. Faizal  supplied a generator  and 5 fluorescent lamps to illuminate the caves.
A total of 56 volunteers were present and the work was divided among them. Some cleaned and and some erased the writing on the cave walls by mixing soil with water in the cave. Conservation works were completed at 5.00 pm as planned.
