This year the participants of Gua Damai International BASE Jump 2014 had the luxury of free transportation, from Hotel Pacific Regency” to Gua Damai Extreme Park, courtesy of the organizer, MPS. This is to ensure that participants can arrive on time in the early morning. Upon arrival, they were served a welcome drink with a light breakfast. They were also provided mineral water throughout the day.

Participants paid a registration fee of RM100 each for two day jump. Those who jumped only for a day paid RM50. Each of them received a goodie bag filled with gifts, information about Selangor and MPS, an event sticker, a t-shirt and a sponsored drink coupons.

Our graph shows a comparison of participation in the year 2013 and year 2014. It shows that there is an increase of 25% in the number of participants and more jumps were attempted in 2014. The organizers would like to invite all BASE jumpers to come to “Gua Damai BASE Fiesta” on 23rd and 24th September 2014. Gua Damai is the first and only place in Malaysia where all BASE Jumpers can jump from the height of 316 feet (96M) from its cliff and land in the football field.

As the name suggests, there are several caves in Gua Damai, but there is this particular route in the cave that will take you up to the cliff.  The steps in the cave is well lit and you will be secured with a life line via ferratta.

Trekking up will take you 20 minutes to reach to the top. There you will see a specially design steel ramp, constructed platform for BASE jumpers, equipped with safety line.  From this point, you can choose hand held or PCA. The platform commands a view over a village with its multi-color rooftops, some high rise dwellings and other hills. Breathtaking!
The landing area is a small soccer field. You need to fly about 50 meters to make it there.
We believe you will enjoy these 2 days of jumps at Gua Damai. We look forward to have you here.
